- Sponsor a Foster Kitten! - The VBAS Kitten Foster Program was established in 2001 in response to the overwhelming kitten population in the Burbank area. In 2008, we fostered over 350 kittens who otherwise would have no one to care for them and would, sadly, be euthanized. We expect to rescue ever more kittens this year. The KFP is funded exclusively through donations to the VBAS, and now, for the first time ever, you can sponsor a kitten and save her life. A detailed flyer is below.
We cannot do it alone, we need your help!

- Fire at German Shepherd Rescue -
Your Help Is Needed!
German Shepherd Rescue, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill shelter dedicated to saving and finding homes for purebred German Shepherd Dogs. Operated by Grace Konosky the rescue has been located in Burbank for many years. Grace also has a sanctuary in Tehachapi for senior and unadoptable dogs that have no where else to go.
Recently there was a serious fire at the Tehachapi facility and one of the buildings burned down. Konosky's four personal pets, dogs deemed unsuitable for adoption due to age and temperament, suffered from smoke inhalation, singed fur and noses as well as paw burns. Konosky is determined to rebuild the sanctuary and continue living in Tehachapi with her dogs. Donations are needed to fund the clean-up and rebuilding process.
German Shepherd Rescue has been a good friend to VBAS, supporting our City Paws newsletter by placing an ad each quarter. We appreciate any help you can offer for the rebuilding of this facility.

a short video of Bella

in action!

Bella

Bella is a smart cat who loves attention and snuggles. She's very playful and talkative most mornings and loves to lounge around all afternoon in silly positions all over the house. People always comment on her funny ways of relaxing - belly in air, paws splayed to the sides. People also comment on how pretty she is. Bella is quite the princess and needs to be the only cat in the house but she will reward you with lots of attention. Bella is seeking a special, understanding person who wouldn't be above talking baby-talk (which she adores) with a cat. For more information or to visit with her please call her foster mom Diana at 818-545-0908.
